Master Chu's Martial Arts Background

In Hong Kong, C.K. Chu studied: Northern Shao Lin from Master See; Fut Ga (Buddha Fist) from Master Lee; Cheng Wing-Gung's Wu style Tai Chi; Yang style from Master Chan a student of Yang Cheng-fu and Tung Ying-jeh; and Judo from Gom Jen (Golden Well), a Japanese Master.

In New York, he studied with Master William C.C. Chen and assisted teaching at his school; and he took classes at the Judo Center in the East 70's. He taught Tai Chi both at Aaron Bank's Karate Academy and Hank Kraft's Judo School in Queens.

In 1973, Master Chu founded his own school, the Tai Chi Chuan Center of New York. Since then, he has spent the last 36 years exposing students to the numerous benefits of Tai Chi and Nei Kung. In March, 2001, the school moved to its current location at 156 West 44th Street and was renamed Chu Tai Chi.

Master C.K. Chu does not claim lineage from any of his teachers.
